2.4.17-rmk5-hh
Updated: 3/7/2002
It boots with sound support compiled in (sa1111+1341 et al. and L3+sa111) and no kernel panics.
Touchscreen works!
Worked nicely but does need calibrating (slightly off but close).
The calibration program does not work with it and simply fscks the ts.
I will try checking out xcalibrate from hh.org cvs and seeing if I can make it compatible.
I do get a lot of the following messages via serial console while using ts.
mcu_start: [a0] bad start ffffffff
mcu_byte: timed out
mcu_byte: timed out
mcu_byte: timed out
mcu_byte: timed out
mcu_byte: timed out
Console output
Setting linuxargs params console to "console", and "/dev/console" have no positive effect.
Leaving out the "console" variable altogether or setting to the value "fb0" seemed better.
The cursor moved around the screen while booting as it normally does on a desktop but
there was still no text output.
Sound
There is sound. And it is confirmed to be stereo!
I only had audio coming out in 1 channel (left),
but my particular jornada has a problem with the headphone jack.
General Stability
2/24/2002
When I first booted, I quickly wanted to test ts and sound.
I scp'd a mp3 file over and saw eth0/pcmcia/network error messages.
The file played per above. When I rebooted, I had jffs2 corruption (no /boot directory)
Also note that before rebooting I tried using the crl xcalibrate pgm and got some funky ts errors.
I reloaded my last root image and installed a bunch of ipkgs under this new kernel and have
rebooted about 10 times so far with no troubles. I'm going to try using rz to copy in
my mp3 file and see if there's any problems after that. [update: no problems via "rz"]
I did use rsync to copy current root snapshot and have since rebooted with no problems
(but did see a few network errors but reading, not writing to fs).

Everything still working well. No JFFS2 corruptions.
The only problem I see is network timeouts on my pcmcia nic (both wired + wireless).
