I've just done the intimate install for the upteenth time. I used to
have a functioning install, but lost it after a crash. Now, everytime
I try to install on my 3600, I get an install that is clearly
incomplete. No working X, no virtual keyboard or xterm, no blackbox,
no xset or xrdb or xstroke. Not sure what else is missing, but
probably quite a bit. I can log in thru the serial console, and find a
lot of files in /var/cache/apt/archives that were downloaded but not
installed, but not the above.
And this is using an older initrd that I had around (the opening
install screen says v0.06) as the newer one from the "news" area of
the intimate website doesn't seem to work at all, that just boots to a
screen with no keyboard, so you can't even type "intimate-install".
Does anyone know the secret of getting a good install or have an
initrd that does it?
