Fwd: linux-wlan?

I'm not sure what ndiswrapper is -- I don't have it on my desktop
debian box and the Linksys WUSBll v2.5 usb wifi nic (prism2) works on
that with the linux-wlan-ng modules. And I just installed Familiar
v080 on my 3600 and it automatically loads hostap modules when I boot
and seems to work, at least recognizes the card and all tho I haven't
yet got a real connection going.
When I boot the new intimate install (which, BTW, doesn't seem to
have installed all the way -- it runs, I've got blackbox working, but
an awful lot seems to be missing and there are weird messages in
dmesg), if I have the prism card in, intimate seems to see it okay,
loads a wvlan module which appears to work, but then the boot stops
because it can't get a dhcp connection. I can see all that if I have a
serial connection going at the same time, but the screen on the ipaq
stops at the "detecting pcmcia cards.." If I take it out and put in
the ethernet nic it boots okay and I'm on line.
