pcmcia problem

Hi,
I installed intimate using the instructions from
http://intimate.handhelds.org/docs/install-howto/ with bootloader 2.18.54
from familiar 0.6. I found out there seem to be 2 bugs, first cp -av
/mnt/initrd/* /tmp/initrd/ doesn't copy shortcuts so I used konqueror to
copy and second I had to type chown -R root.root /tmp/initrd instead of
chmod -R root.root /tmp/initrd when creating my own initrd. After that I had
an ipaq which displayed a cross which I could move with the stylus and no
network connection. So I did dpkg --configure -a to fix h3600utils and
tinyxserver, after reboot I copied matchbox, libstdc++, libxaw6, xlib6g,
blackbox, xstroke, xfonts-itsy, xfonts-tiny, stowaway, xvkbd, xlibmesa3,
bbrun, libxk, miniscrib, xkbd_0.8, libxaw7, cpp-2.95, cpp_2.95 and
xbase-clients-ipaq which I downloaded from intimate and debian to the CF
card and installed them manually using dpkg -i. After reboot blackbox
started and i could start some programs, other programs don't start and I
see "x-terminal-emulator: command not found" in the logs. Then I installed
psmisc and pcmcia in order to make my network card work, but after rebooting
I think I get an invalid frame pointer from cardmgr and sometimes even my
ext3 is broken afterwards and e.g. reboot and shutdown now result in
"command not found". Is there something like a downloadable base image with
gui and network support?
