What network cards are supported in the initrd

I am trying to install intimate by the new method

but I am having problem with network cards

My Buffalo WLI-PCM-L11 card gets detected incorrectly and the wvlan_cs driver
gets loaded instead of the orinoco_cs.

My Netgear FA411 is not detected at all (usually uses pcnet_cs (in familiar
0.7.2).

My Xircom credit card ethernet 10/100 gets detected as a Xircom 200 and the
boot process stops.

What card has anyone managed to get the the install to work with?

Or is there a copy of mkcramfs for ARM available some where so that I can
create my own initrd.
