Yeah. My cradle has both an USB and a serial cable.
If you don't have that, and can't type an "=" on the virtual keyboard,
you should still be able to log in with ssh over the usb cable from the
workstation. Then you can set http_proxy and start the installation.
There's a nice ssh client for windows called putty that you could use.
Another way could be to create a script when logged in over the serial
console that sets http_proxy and starts the installation. Then you
can start that script from the on-screen keyboard without having to
type an equal sign.
