emacs package for intimate

I was trying to install an emacs package from my vanilla
intimate installation using

apt-get install emacs

This failed. Apparently the emacs package is mentioned in the dependency
database but nobody has uploaded it.
Is there another way to get emacs for intimate other than installing it from scratch?
