Re: Intimate on PCMCIA card

Hello Des,

I tried using the dest option for installing gcc, but ipkg threw alot of symlink
errors and the compiler didn't appear to work. (I have had it working before on
the default dest)

I went back to trying to install intimate as bootable directly from the card
using the "new" instructions. (Which, incidentally, should be made more
obviously available)

I'm now up to step 3, but I can't seem to configure usb networking. Where is
the /etc/network/interfaces file? Hotplug on my PC picks up that the USB is
there, but ifconfig refuses to assign correct values to it.

I tried ifconfig usbf 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 and
it assigned my usbf to an IP of 192.168.1.1. Strange...

Are there some defaults that I need my PC to match? I have been using
192.168.1.x for my PDA because I have DHCP running on 192.168.0.x and it seems
to conflict when running familiar.

Thanks for your help. :-)

Cheers,
Tudor.
