Thanks for the response. I ended up doing with usbnet, ssh and ftp
(the ftp server running on my laptop). I still have not tried apt-get
to install KDE... other priorities have come up, I might be able to get
to it next week sometime. The other thing I tried and couldn't get
working was the install of OPIE on Intimate. The instructions say to
use ipkg to overwrite the version of libc6 provided with intimate...
well, it wants to overwrite a bunch of other stuff too, and I haven't
been able to force it to do so. Even with -force-depends and
-force-update. The problem is that ipkg sees the files there, but
doesn't recognize that they belong to a package. I redid some stuff on
my Familiar install and linked /opt to my microdrive so that the
majority of OPIE will install there. It has slowed things down
considerably, but it works for the most part. :-) I really do want to
get Intimate going so I'll work on it more next week.
