Using Intimate as a Familiar devel env

I'm in the process of moving my ipaq development environment from a
dragonfeed (chroot) system to Intimate. I am using Intimate strictly as
a development system... the deployed system is Familiar, because my
application requires 2 PCMCIA slots and there's no room for external
storage.

Who else is using Intimate in this way? I'm wondering what
compatibility issues there will be if I build .debs on intimate and
install them on familiar. Any hints on how to keep required libs in
sync?

Also: I would like to install matchbox/GPE on the Intimate environment
because that's what Familiar is shipping with. Is there a way to
install Familiar ipks on Intimate?

Thanks,
b.g.
