Hi, I will not tell you how much time I have wasted doing just this. =)
I have had, I would say, minimal success.

I had to install the following manually. I got the idea from a post on
installing 0.5.1 (They installed ...2.4.16-rmk1)

ipkg install reiserfs-modules-2.4.18-rmk3
ipkg install reiserfs-modules-2.4.18-rmk2

It seams to work, the only problem I seem to be having is the
bootloader. When I reboot, intimate doesn't take over as stated in the
install doc... and yes, I installed the intimate boot package. I can
manually mount by ./linuxrc.intimate but that sucks. If anyone can help
with this I would appreciate it.

Thanks.
Nik

Subject: [Intimate] Installing intimate on top of familiar0.5.2?

Hi,

I think the subject line says it all: can one install intimate (as it is
currently constituted) in top of familiar0.5.2, which is based on the
2.4.18 kernel. (I think the kernel is officially denoted 2.4.18-rmk3.)
I hesitate to try since one of the intimate web pages makes a point of
stressing intimate's dependence on a particular kernel. However, the
page appears not to have been updated in a while, so this info could be
out of date...

If it is permissible to install over familiar0.5.2, are the install
instructions the same, or have they changed? In fact, where does one go
for the most up-to-date feed, docs, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

-Tony Falcone
