It's in debian unstable, (and nearly debian stable) so you can probably
just:
        apt-get -f install xkbd

In case you didn't know, xkbd works really really well with
        apt-get -f install matchbox

which is a lovely window manager designed by the same auther (mallum)
for the ipaq.
