apt-get update fails

Hi all

I am not a debian user normally so this may be me using the tools
incorrectly. When I run an apt-get update it fails when it's 'Reading
Package Lists' with the following error:

E: Problem parsing dependency Depends
E: Error occured while processing opie-pics (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList
/var/lib/apt/lists/intimate.handhelds.org_debian_dists_unstable_main_binary-arm_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Is there something I can do to fix this on my ipaq or is there a
misconfiguration on the server
