If you can, eject all cards from your pcmcia sleeve. Reset the Compaq
via the soft reset button on the bottom. Boot yourself into Familiar
off the flash rom without the microdrive inserted.

After familiar is up and running, insert the microdrive. More than
likely, it will detect the type as reiserfs and try to mount it which
will check it's transaction log.

If this doesn't happen automatically, try manually mounting to via
'mount -t reiserfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1' (replace the paths if
necessary). You may need to manually load the reiserfs module via
insmod if your kernel hasn't loaded it already.

Subject: [Intimate] I/O error on hda?

[Someone suggested I post this here in addition to ipaq_at_handhelds.]

I'm running intimate on a 1Gb Microdrive with the Reiserfs. Today my
ipaq became wedged and when I connected it back to the serial cradle,
I got:

end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02 (hda), sector 320
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02 (hda), sector 328
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02 (hda), sector 336
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02 (hda), sector 344
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02 (hda), sector 352
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:01 (hda), sector 324712
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:01 (hda), sector 324712

This strikes me as really bad news. Any chance I can work around this?
(I'm going on vacation in two weeks and I need my ipaq...)

I've looked at the reiserfs programs and I don't see any way to make
them scan the disk. Is there anything I can do (in less than 10 days)
to work around this problem? Help! :-)

                                        Be seeing you,
