Stuck at 'connecting to intimate.handhelds.org:80'

After having sorted out my networking problems (thanks a lot jian!!) I am
now able to get an ethernet connection with my iPaq using my Netgear FA411
ethernet card. Pinging is succesful....but when I try to connect (mkdir -p
/tmp/intimate && cd /tmp/intimate && wget
http://intimate.handhelds.org/installer/installer && sh installer) it just
sits there for ages.

Trying ipkg update aloso fails with the iPaqw sitting there trying to
establish a connection.

Any advice appreciated!!
