One last problem :)

So, fresh install of Familiar 0.4 with updated kernel (2.4.7), a dual
PCMCIA sleeve with an IBM Microdrive (1G) and a Lucent Orinoco LAN
card. Research advisor who wants it done yesterday :)

I installed Intimate over Familiar with no problems. The install script
ran through and installed a bunch of stuff on the microdrive, and the
post-install worked. I see a /linuxrc and /linuxrc.intimate from
familiar. However, I can't get intimate to boot. It looks like the
microdrive is only recognized as a memory device -- mounting /dev/hda1
fails with "no such device" and familiar shows up. From familiar I can
eject the microdrive ("Unloading memory_cs") and reinsert it ("Loading
ide"). Any idea why the drive is only recognized as a memory card when the
ipaq is first powered on?
