FYI: intimate bugs/glitches

I've just finished installing intimate on top of Familiar 0.4 with the
2.4.7 kernel (so I can access the dual PC Card sleeve). It's been a
long hard road (for reasons I can't really explain...inexperience on
my part, perhaps).

Anyway, I've encountered a few nits along the way that I thought I'd
report.

1. /lib/modules/{version}/modules.dep is a symlink to /var/run/modules.dep.
For some reason, the modutils that runs during boot up doesn't seem
to replace this file. I "fixed" this by deleting the symlink so that
   modules.dep is actually in /lib/modules/{version}/

2. The part of the intimate install that examples /resolve.conf on the
Familiar partition and copies those settings to /etc/network/interfaces
copies those settings multiple times if the install is run multiple
times. Subsequent use of the interfaces file seems to hiccup over
   the dups.

3. /etc/ppp/ip-down.d/0dns-down refers to /etc/init.d/nscd which doesn't
   exist.

4. There's definitely some confusion about whether /etc/inittab and
   /etc/securetty should use /tts/0 or ttySA0

5. /etc/X11/Xdefaults is referenced but doesn't exist

6. /etc/modules.conf seems to contain some bogus entries about sa1100_usb.

                                        Be seeing you,
                                          norm
