Re: Intimate on top of recent kernels?

Hi,

I have 2 ipaqs with intimate, the dual sleeve, and the most recent
kernel 2.4.7-rmk3-np1-devfs.

I actually did the intimate install a couple of weeks ago with one of the
older versions of the kernel (2.4.4) but have since upgraded kernel
versions.

My standard procedure is to:

1) reboot the ipaq into the familiar "partition" by modifying the
params to point to /linuxrc instead if /linuxrc.intimate.

2) use ipkg to install the latest kernel and modules

3) mount my hard disk and copy the freshly installed modules over

4) reboot, change the params back to the original ones and return
to intimate

The only hitch I've had is that devfs doesn't seem to be working
properly for me so I had to modify the /etc/inittab and /etc/securetty
to use ttySA0 instead of tts/0.
