Hello all,
It seems dpkg runs into problems when installand and removing deb packages
for Intimate. I have tried numberous times with no luck. BUT I do where
the problem lies:
It seems that the standard postrm and postinst scripts call another script
named '/usr/bin/update-menus' which in turn checks to see if their are any
execuatables in '/etc/menu-methods' and runs them. The only script in there
is one entitled 'blackbox' which causes multiple problems. I not really
sure yet what exactly is the problem and I just started to look into it
(I've been busy packaging stuff).
Anyway, can someone please verify this? I have a strace on it which ends in
a PANIC error message.
I think it would be wise for the time being is if your going to make a deb
package for Intimate and its not needed in the Blackbox menu system, then
don't try to update-menu in yoru postrm and postinst script. Removing those
temporarily allows you to install dn remove packages.
Please let me know if you are having this problem as well!
