Intimate installation problems

I've got an iPaq 3650 that I've installed familiar 0.4 on, upgraded to the
2.4.6 kernel to support my dual sleeve backback and I have attempted to
install Intimate on a 1GB IBM microdrive. It gets though most of the
installation, starts to intall the .debs and then suddenly I get an
endless stream of diagnotics message from what appears to the the
flash filesystem.

I've partitioned the microdrive as follows: hda1: 600M, hda2:31M,
hda3:<remainder of disk>

Eventually the installation stops and the installation process gets hung -- I
can ^Z out of it, but from then on whatever I do I get flash filesystems diags.

They don't look like errors, just debugging into about whats being read/
written from the filesystem.

Anyone else had this problem..?

regards,
  DHMS
