upgrading to 2.4.6 kernel for dual sleeve

I have intimate installed and I now want to upgrade to the 2.4.6.
kernel to get my (soon to arrive) dual sleeve working.

Will the following work?

   - upgrade just the familiar kernel and modules per the instructions
     at http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/Linux2.4.6

   - mount the microdive that has initmate installed and copy the
     new kernel modules over to the right place

   - reboot

Perhaps I also need to build the reiserfs module for the 2.4.6 kernel?
