Under the 2.4.4 kernel, devfs is mounted by default, meaning that the
devfs=mount in the linuxargs for intimate is no longer necessary (doesn't do
any harm though)
You need devfs=nomount for booting unmodified familiar. If you've installed
the intimateboot package, then you want devfs=mount instead.

Jamey suggests (via the Wiki Q&A page) that devfs=nomount be set in
the boot config for 2.4.4. Would your dev fix script still need to
be run with this?
