jacques thinks that this might be a strange problem with X. Try killing
X, and starting it again. (use '/etc/init.d/x stop' and then
'/etc/init.d/x start' and hopefully that solves it)

If that trick did not work, drop by #intimate on irc.openprojects.net.
Hopefully someone there can help you. I'm on there as 'catch23'.
