Just jotting down notes on some of my intimate experiences ( bear in mind, I
am just spouting opinions ;)

1) SSH2 is installed by default, which is kind of odd, and by default is
config'd with DNS lookup required to allow login, which is a pain. Also,
SSH2 is somewhat of a restrictive license ;) Also, it doesn't install scp1,
so if you get downgraded, no SCP for you... which is a major bummer... why
not the standard ssh .deb, which ships openSSH, which has all that and a
friendlier license?

2) xbase-clients should prolly be part of the base distro, no? many cool
things here that should be baseline!

3) the new /etc/fstab with the commented out jffs2 mount forces the jffs2
garbage collector to go defunct ( can't find jffs2 mount! -thanks Jacques )

4) windows that launch too large are not only unusable, but they prevent
themselves from being closed, which makes most of koffice not only useless,
but annoying... I'll have to try some of the task switchers... any
recommendations? Also, what about building a master Xdefaults to resize
most windows to within reason?

There are my rants, and here is my offer:

What can I do to help? I have an ipaq and a 1gig microdrive. I'm looking
to actually be productive in business with the thing. I can definitely
test, use things, see what's broken, and whine on IRC, thus depriving
Jacques of focus time and sleep. That's no problem.

I'm also happy to work on: package maintenance, documentation, basic
systems functions ( ppp/networking/wireless/irda/interfaces, etc... ), and
whatever else I can pull off... I have a background in Unix Systems
Engineering and farther back in development, although, for me, coding has
become rather like cutting my own hair: it's definitely possible, but
probably not a good idea... hacking is a different story.

So, I'll drop by on IRC and see what needs doing, or send me an email...
