General

The Palm Tungsten E was the first Tungsten PDA to run Linux. The Garux bootloader was initially developed for this project, but was reused for all the other PalmOS 5 PDAs. Since then, the project is being splitted: Garux on one hand, Linux on Tungsten E on the other.

First of all, you should read [WWW]Linux on Palm Tungsten E. And eventually, if you're interested in the bootloader "[WWW]Garux Linux bootloader for the PalmOS 5".

Tungsten E's closest relative is Zire 71. Tungsten E2, however, is almost completely different hardware-wise despite its resembling look, factory software and the model name.
