Graphical Environments
As "Big" Linux, Handheld Linux also likes variety, and just the same as KDE and Gnome, we have ![[WWW]](/moin/handhelds/img/moin-www.png){kind=small}
OPIE and GPE. Yes, they are related to their desktop counterparts, though GPE is a bit more Gnome, than OPIE - KDE ;-). But OPIE (oftentimes written as Opie) is more adapted to handheld usage, a bit more polished, and takes less resources to run. Either way, don't make your choice until you've tried both!

Both OPIE and GPE come with quite good basic Personal Information Management application suite. And yes, contact photos are supported out of the box!
