Hello Michael,
yes, my Compaq TC1000 can hibernate and suspend to RAM just fine.
Standby works, too.
I use Gentoo distro, TuxOnIce-patched Gentoo kernel 2.6.23 (r6),
NVIDIA driver & my own xf86-input-tc1kpen X11 tablet driver.
Hibernation via hibernate-script works fine; I only had to patch
the NVIDIA proprietary driver to be able to compile nvidia kernel
module for 2.6.23 kernel and incorporated the TuxOnIce PM patch.
The resulting patch is published on my WEB:
http://www.razdva.cz/vencik/TC1000_And_Linux/
See it for more info, kernel config, NVIDIA driver patch,
xorg.conf, xf86-input-tc1kpen driver etc...
Suspend to RAM and standby works just by issuing
# echo -n mem > /sys/power/state
and
# echo -n standby > /sys/power/state
, respectively.
My xf86-input-tc1kpen driver is reported working on X.Org Xserver 1.4
and X11 7.3, XInput ABI v2.0 by another Gentoo user.
It supports landscape/portrait switching via RandR extension
and side-buttons, too.
It is available on my WEB under terms of GNU GPL.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions...
Hope it will help,
Regards,
vencik
