Ubuntu Feisty Fawn: tc1k driver doesn't work

I had xubuntu edgy working perfectly on my tc1000. I
upgraded today and now the tc1k driver won't load. I'm
getting this error in my xorg logs:

(II) LoadModule: "tc1k"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module tc1k
(II) UnloadModule: "tc1k"
(EE) Failed to load module "tc1k" (module does not exist,
0)

I know it's the tc1k driver because I can load the fpit
driver and get movement with no clicking.

I noticed when poking around that all of the other input
drivers in feisty are .so files and the tc1k driver is a
.so file. I suspect that's a problem? Another recent
poster seemed to have a similar problem with gentoo. Does
anyone have any idea?

I'm getting pretty desperate here.
