Gentoo and the Pen Digitizer

I have searched through these forums, and no one seems to have a problem
with the pen digitizer, but I just can't make it work. If someone can
please point me in the right direction to make this work, I would appreciate
it. Here is what I have

Gentoo Linux 2006.1
Kernel 2.6.20-gentoo
xorg-x11

I have compiled and installed the fpi2002 driver, added the setserial to
startup, and I can confirm this works.
The portage package "fpit" works, but I cannot "click", but this confirms
that the pen works.

I have installed the tc1k-1.0, 1.1, and 1.1zw with the same results. I get
an error in Xconf.0.log (EE) Couldn't load module "tc1k"
