I'm installing Linux on my tc1000, and found that reinstalling windows
from QuickRestore and an external USB CD reader (a) doesn't work with
my CD drive (b) for the better, as it would overwrite the entire
/dev/hda. I found, on this list, the instructions on how to prevent
(b):
http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/tc1000-linux/0/0031.html
There're some threads on other forums on modifying the CD 1 to make it
bootable from more CD drives:
http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1279&whichpage=1
However, xpboot.bin image referred to from there is missing. Googling
for it opens yet another avenue of improvement (c) -- "slipstreaming"
SP2 into XP, e.g.

I wonder whether anybody here has a usable CD1 image they can share,
and/or ideas on doing (a-c)!
Cheers,
Alexy
