X question, breaks terminal on exit

Hello all,

I'm happily running under Johannes configuration (and hi! I'm with New
York City Indymedia, and knew Brad. It's awesome what you are doing!).

Of course I've a few bobbles. When I shut down the X server, I loose my
cursor and the dimensions of the screen aren't correct anymore. Any ideas?

I'm also trying to use a holux gm-270 compact flash gps unit. I'm just
confused on where I need to go to read a howto on this subject, the
general one of gps on a compact flash. Any pointers?
