Configure XOrg to use DPMS.
Edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf. ....
Add the line Option "DPMS" to the Monitor section of the file.
Then add the line Option "OffTime" "20" to the ServerLayout
section of the file.
And finally add Option DPMS" "TRUE" to the "Device" Section.
It works on mine ... Gnome screensaver blank screen...
