Hi,
updating the kernel I was again annoyed by having to recompile the
fpi2002 kernel module. So I thought about porting it into a user space
application. Well, I could even get it work without having to compile a
C program :) Ported it directly to a shell script.
You need:
- root access
- /dev/ports
- pci utilities (setpci)
- GNU coreutils (dd and od)
- the Bash shell
- and of course the shell script itself "fpi2002.sh"
All this should be provided by almost any Linux distro.
A shell script cannot lock interrupts or prevent task switches. No
guarantee that this will work under all circumstances. I won't take
responsibility for any damage you do to your laptop. You have been
warned.
regards,
David
