Wireless on the TC1000

I am new to this list, having just been given an HP / Compaq TC1000
tablet pc. I have installed the latest version of Ubuntu 6.06, but I'm
finding that the wireless networking is not supported by the default
installation. Most of the how-to's that I've found online are a little
older and I'm just wondering if anyone has found a distro that seems to
"just work" for the wireless portion?
