ALSA - looping sound

Hello,

I tried to install suse 9.3 just to test something new and it looks like
things moved a bit since I installed gentoo 2004.3. With the default
install suse has suspend to disk working just fine on TC1000. I haven't
tried nvidia driver yet or pen driver but with nv driver it hibernates
and resumes quite fine with usb and X display working. Nice to see it
can work.

But back to the question. The default sound driver in suse is ALSA and
it doesn't work correctly. I had the same problem when testing some
version of KNOPPIX with 2.6 kernel.

Anybody has ALSA working fine on TC1000 with 2.6 kernel? What tweaks it
needs? The sound output starts but then it loops and it takes ages to
play short sample (logon/logoff sound).

Fortunately the OSS driver is also available and when used instead of
alsa modules sound works fine but it would be nice to have alsa running.
Any tips?

Thanks,
Frantisek
