It's a good choice.
I use it as a main driver. Crusoe is to slow to play games anyway, so I
do not need good 3D acceleration and 2D is as good as in nvidia driver.

Use vesafb-ng. It works VERY fine. And is fast.

Only 5336 driver does not hung when switching to console.
But it flickers horribly.

Yes. Use vesafb-ng and nv X driver. No problems at all. :-)
