Mandrake has the same problem. Since the microphone and the speakers on
the TC1000 are so close, and since Mandrake and SuSe have high mic
levels by default on ALSA cards, this causes the feedback you described.
Just plug a pair of headphones or whatever into the microphone jack
until you can adjust the volume levels.
We have fixed the problem for Mandrake 10.1. ;-)
