Hi;
Has anyone played with HP's quicklook utility ( free download via hp
site ) ? Its a small utility which updates the tc1000's bios and
basically allows you to quickly boot off a cf card and read outlook
data quickly.
Anyway it turns out Quicklook puts a small bootloader and netbsd
binary on the cf card and this is what it boots. The two files are
QLook.bt ( looks like a slightly modified 'dosboot' binary ) and
QLook.gz ( netbsd :-) ).
I've been toying around with trying to get the bios to load a Linux
bootloader ( so far tried SYSLINUX and Loadlin ) by renaming the
Linux bootloader as QLook.bt but so far I just get a flashing cursor
:/
I dont know if the bios is doing some kind of check on the bootloader
binary or Im just doing something stupid. Any ideas appreciated. If we
can get this to work it'd be a nice way for people to quickly non
destructively and easily tray Linux on the TC1000's by just popping in
a CF card :-).
