Installing OPIE applications into "ext" (/mnt/hda)?

Hi,

I'm trying to install some OPIE applications onto my CF card with ipkg -d ext install <package> this sorta works, but the icons don't show up on my OPIE tabs. I tried making symlinks but for some reason that doesn't work (which surprises me).

Any ideas? I have no room left on my iPaq but I really want a few more things... was hoping I could get them onto my CF.
