Sorry to bother you...
And sorry for not sending this through "regular" channels (bug tracking /
mailing list)... i was too lazy... air temperature's too high...
I'm rather happy with the way opie's (and familiar) progressing (although it
 seems to be a bit chaotic) and would really like to see it get even
 better... I compiled a list of bugs i encountered during last week (since i
 got everything to work) and a wish list of features i'd like to see in
 future versions... I appologize in advance for any:
        - hipocrisy
        - ignorance
        - i'm-an-unhappy-user-you're-a-developer-so-go-do-your-voodoo attitude
        - english language syntactical, spelling or any other errors... english is
 not my native tongue(/language)... Croatian is...

Ok... here goes...

BUGS

----
- FTP app doesn't work for me... it doesn't show ANYTHING in the Remote area
- bug with Settings apps not being able to close with OK... That is, they
 keep running and i have to recall them again via taskbar and close them with
 X - problems with sounds and voice recorder... there are no opie sounds and
 voice recorder applet doesn't do a thing when clicked on... sound IS working
 everywhere else - bug with "central" press of direction button (it keeps
 sending keydown until some other button is pressed) - Konsole problem -> the
 backspace key is wrongly assigned... if i fix it through "stty erase" it's
 wrong elsewhere (i.e. SSH) - buggy Contacts... had to enter and remove the
 first contact a few times to get it to actually start showing the
 contacts... until then it only showed an empty list...
NOT-QUITE-BUGS (TM) (sinonym for ALMOST-FEATURES (R))

- there is no "rotation" of hardware buttons (direction button) with rotation
 of apps... can be irritating if you're browsing through a bunch of text that
 you've conviniently rotated to get more width - there is no rotation of SIP
 (standard input panel or whatever it's called in Opie) with apps... it's
 rather hard to type in a rotated term with a ninety degree keyboard... and
 restarting opie for just one term session sux - What happens when applet
 icons fill up their task bar area???
- A simple way to kill applets??? And load them....
- support for NVRD in Storage tab of System info -> it only shows jffs
- Memory tab acts weird sometimes if you set dramsize manually in bootldr
 params - networking??? (how do you get opie to recognize a USB or serial PPP
 connection???) - you have to close (with X) the Appearance app and then
 "Yes" a dialogue instead of having an OK button on the app itself - In
 Contacts: typing a single name in Full Name field causes Contacts to fill
 all the name fields with the same string quadrupling the name (typing Foo
 results in Foo Foo Foo Foo being recorded) - Generally, font support in apps
 SUX! and is very buggy (sometimes changing the font (i.e. to Small or Large)
 doesn't cause a refresh...
FEATURE WISH LIST
-----------------
- LCD off (for mp3 playing etc.) -> manually or through timeout
- ability to disable auto suspend if certain processes are running (ogg123 or
 opieplayer) - OGG plugin for opieplayer
- some sort of skinning dialogue for opieplayer
- mixer applet
- equalizer (at least the support for ipaq's inbuilt DSP bass and trebble)
- LED event support 	-> various warning dialogues cause the led to flash
			-> VUmeter while playing? (entartainment purposes)
			-> led battery indicator (off=ok, grn=50%, grn flsh=25%, ylw=critical or
 similar) -> incoming email messages etc...
- How about making a single icon announciator area in the task bar... and
 having system related dialogues invisible, led flashing, proper announciator
 showing (or blinking) until user taps it - Task bar hide?
- A WORKING irda support... beaming of apps, files, etc...
- some sort of scripting or at least the ability to assign scripts to mime
 types (so that, i.e. when i tap on an ogg file it forwards the filename as a
 parameter to a script that runs ogg123) - Application key settings ->
 support for record button (and, perhaps, ability to assign ANY executable to
 a button) - background in launcher scrolls with icons... i know it would
 probably be much slower (need for constant recalculation of alpha blending
 yadda yaddas) but could it be possible to choose between the existing way
 and a "fixed" ("non-moving") background - background "tied" to current day
 of the week or month... same thing with header in Today app - how about a
 photo field in Contacts?
- REAL font support would be nice too (as in: a font selector)
And finally, an off-topic question:
My NVRD "partition" keeps corrupting after a while... And it seems to
always corrupt neither more nor less than 2 (words: TWO) files... Does
anyone know what could be the cause? (UPDATE: nope... it killed a whole
directory (with lirc confs) today)
One more thing... grep sometimes dies, kills my connections, freezes ipaq
 (that's probably what kills the connections), then dies and everything's
 back to normal... why does that happen?
