QPE- Not Starting

Holger--

thanks for the response about Opie vs. QPE. I reloaded task-
bootstrap.jffs2 to make sure I had a clean familiar install, then I went
to opie.handhelds.org and downloaded the opie packages from there:

qt-embedded
opie-embeddedkonsole
opie-sounds
opie-taskbar
qpe-pics
opie-base
opie-keyboard

Installation seemed to go smoothly, but I still get the exact same
behavior as before. I get a message indicating that qpe is starting,
but nothing happens on the display. The little penguin with the
blinking cursor is visible, but that's it. Any other suggestions? Am I
missing any of the basic packages needed to get the basic opie window
environment going? Thanks again.

Since the behavior did not change at all, maybe my system wasn't
entirely clean? Do I need to go all the way back and re-load
bootldr-2.18.01.bin?

Willy.

Do you use the packages from qpe.sourceforge.net? If so then you're out
of
luck here. One reason Opie exists is that QPE does not work on iPAQs.
You mailed the Opie ML and not the QPE ml so please use our binaries.
look at
www.opie.info and opie.handhelds.org.
