Re-install problems

Hi all.
I am trying to re-install familiar/opie on my IPAQ.
But I am now having problems getting pppd call to work.
I get the following..

Serial connection established.
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS1
LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests

I thing I may have broken /etc/passwd,

Could somebody mail me a correct copy of /etc/passwd

All else is exactly as set out in the wiki.
