A Resolution^W hope

There has been a lot of confusion and anger in the past few weeks. A lot of
bickering and finger pointing. I come into this from being away from Opie for
a few years (marrage, house, etc). I want everyone to know that my first
priority at this time is to save the project. This past Sunday George France
offered to hand the Opie trademark over to me. However, when he talked to his
lawyers he found that they advised against it. So, I came up with another
plan in an attempt to save the project, with it's original name. I called
together as many Opie devs and others involved as I could on IRC and made a
proposal. I'd like everyone to read carefully and try to understand the
nuances of this situation. I'd also like everyone to have the attitude that
everyone is trying to do their best, and not trying to shaft anyone. This
includes George and Lorn. Beleve me when I say that no one with bad motives
is going to be able to hide them for much longer and it will come out. In the
meantime, please, concider everyone Innocent until proven guilty. If you have
any preconceived ideas about anyone, weather from what someone told you about
them, or from an email or IRC chat written in anger, please wipe the slate
clean and give them a chance. The IRC log is attached. Please read it, apply
the above advice, and think about it for a while before commenting. That
said, I want and need your comments. Without you, the community, this project
will die.

PS. I will be away from my pc for most of the day tomorrow. Have an
appointment with a charter boat and some doomed fish. :)
