I have not contributed a lot of code to Opie, so I do not feel
strongly about who should "own" Opie (tm). I can see points on both
sides (tenure vs. "community location"). Lorn, you stated in your
original e-mail that if there were objections that you would choose
another name. My suggestion is to end this dispute by doing so. Let
Opie continue to languish or be picked up by someone who cares. Use
Topeka or Topaz or Opulent or .... The real value is in the usefulness
of the code and helpfulness of the community.
I fear that hh.org has lost much of what it once was. I hope that they
do not hold on to the past, but build a new, open future.
