I sit behind a firewall at the office and while working on my ipaq the following occurred.

1) I installed the familiar 2.4.18-rmk3 ona an ipaq 3835, set up PPP and IPMASQ according to wiki, added proxy options to ipkg.conf and began loading what I wanted.

2) First task-opie-complete (-force-depends to get rid of advancedfm and qt problems).

3) Rebooted and relogged in over ssh

4) Verified ipkg capabilities by loading vim and bash (from ssh command line).

5) Opened opie-oipkg (Settings->Software) on the ipaq gui.

6) Selected opie-calc (selecting anything causes the problem)

7) Applied the updates

The load times out.

When I went to the ssh to look at ipkg.conf, I opened it in vi and the options, comments, and blank lines were removed.

What did I do wrong?

Eric
