QTopiadesktop Hangs PC

I have recently upgraded from qtopia to opie, and it is an upgrade.

Having never had any joy syncronising qtopia I decided to have a go with
opie and the qtopiadesktop, a combination of which I have had good
reports.

So, anyway, I set up the Ipaq on 192.168.0.11 using the pppd call ipaq
type set up used in the install process and for ssh connections etc.

I then set the security to allow connections in the IP range of the host
machine ( actually I eventually changed it to allow all).

I then fire up qtopiadesktop and it connects to the ipag. Connection
icon goes green syncing appears to start.

I then get the message in the status box ( bottom left)

Retrieving Unknown v0 from Qtopia......

At which time my linux box freezes solid. No input allowed from keyboard
or mouse, nothing, locked. Its press the big red button time.

So has anybody got a clue whats going on here and if its fixable.

Oh and BTW does anybody know how to start the packman game! It looks
great but I cant get it to start ( on an Ipaq)
