Hello Karl,
Thanks for the URL, I checked it out.
I tried a file with the .divx file extension. First, the file selector in
the Opie Mediaplayer 2 refused to consider it as a valid file to play and
did not display it, had to add a full path manually.
Then when I selected the file and asked the Mediaplayer it just hung.
I have the Opie Mediaplayer 1 on the same device, and it plays MP3 files
great (and recognizes them on the CompactFlash card as well). It would be
really nice to be able to view the MIT video lectures on the long bus
commute from:
http://gb-server.mit.edu/search?__EVENTTARGET=&__EVENTARGUMENT=&site=mit&cli
ent=mit&output=xml_no_dtd&proxystylesheet=http%3A%2F%2Focw.mit.edu%2FOcwWeb%
2Fsearch%2Fgoogle-ocw.xsl&proxyreload=1&as_dt=i&restrict=ocw&q=video+lecture
&btnG.x=0&btnG.y=0
All the libxine plugins were installed and configured successfully by the
package manager. Honestly, I'm just not convinced this application is able
to play any video at all.
Does one of the developers have a smoke test video file that is known to
work with the latest Opie?
Thanks much,
Bert
