ack, two syncing questions that are at least partially answered on the
opiesyncing page on opie.hh.org's wiki ;). here it is:

as for a pocketpc image, its illegal to give somebody else your image (yes, i
know, it probably shouldnt be, but oh well). you can restore winCE from
compaq's rom updates without a winCE image, there are instructions on the
handhelds.org wiki (dont remember the address right now).
