Custom Handwriting

Greetings all,

I'm having issues with customizing the handwriting recognition. I
upgraded my system from the standard Qtopia to Opie, so I guess my
settings were saved from the previous installation. Anyway, when I try
to add new letters etc., the "new" option is always greyed out. I've
tried deleting the handwriting.conf files etc., and I can get it to go
back to quasi-original settings, but I still can't change the
characters. I've checked permissions, even tried deleting and then
reinstalling the package...no luck.

Any Clues?
