I had suggest this several times to TrollTech without reaction- IMHO this
feature is vital when talking about proffessinal PIM apps.

However, looking at the code TrollTech has done so far this looks like a big
adventure- interoperability obviously hasnt been on the list when designing
the framework :-(

There isnt even a common API for reading and writing pim data- not even a
common xml processing lib, as everything is hand crafted.

So first thing is to put a pim data access layer in place based on a common
xml dom parser (there is no commitment yet).

Regarding the database, IŽd also opt for a small db (however it neednt be
sql) but this would definitely break compatibility with qtopia (as some other
options would).
